Wilson Chang

Founder of Earth Root Farm, Wilson has been farming in the Hudson Valley for the past 15 years and started the farm in June of 2014.  He graduated from SUNY Binghamton with a BS in Biology and brings an ecological and biological approach to the garden.  He is a certified yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance as well as a Reiki Practitioner.  He blends a scientific and spiritual approach to farming.

Wilson believes that the movement back towards the land is a step in the right direction. There is something profoundly human that we as a society have lost touch with as we move towards technological inovations.  He believes that food access is a fundamental right for everyone and many of the solutions have already been pioneered by nature.

Jen Daly

Jen has always had a passion for working with animals. In 2009 began a successful pet care business in Westchester NY,  while also obtaining her degree from LaGuardia Community College in Veterinary Technology.

Due to her growing concerns with the impact industrial agriculture has on our health,  the environment, and the treatment of animals raised for food, she took her first steps into small scale farming in 2014 with the addition of 12 chickens and a moderately sized garden to her homestead in Northern Westchester. Hooked on farming, and looking for an opportunity to grow and connect with other like minded producers in the area, she joined the team at Earth Root Farm during the 2015 growing season.

Kana Tanaka

Until farmers moved into the house next door on their shared property in Ridgefield, CT and established Earth Root Farm; Kaname Tanaka had no idea she would enjoy farming.  Learning about sustainable farming practices has been an eye opening experience and Kana is regularly surprised at how much she enjoys getting her hands dirty.

Kana has a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a focus in textiles and printmaking. She balances work as the Global IT Systems Manager for a firm in Greenwich, CT by spending her creative energy baking, canning and documenting her farm related learning experiences on Earth Root Farm through pictures. Kana is passionate about good food and strongly believes in the importance of sustainable agriculture and food production.
